Turkish Language Courses (1 Year)

Türkiye Scholarship students are enrolled in Turkish language programme for one year if they do not have Turkish language proficiency. When they are attending the Turkish language programme, they are still being covered by the scholarship programme. Those who who are proficient in Turkish and hold a C1 certificate are given priority during the selection phase.


In line with the level of education, scholarship candidates who are currently enrolled in Turkish universities should apply with their transcripts, those who are accepted to the universities should apply with their registration documents.

For the applications to the undergraduate programme scholarships, candidates should have completed high school, have a valid high school diploma and equivalency certificate from Turkish authority (The students who graduated before 2015 are supposed to take equivalency letter issued by provincial directorate of MoNE, students graduated in 2015 and 2016 have to sit for the equivalency exam and take the equivalency certificate )

For the Scholarships for Syrians, those who are accepted and already enrolled in the Turkish public universities and those who already attend universities are also eligible to apply.

  • For undergraduate programme, those who were born no earlier than 01.01.1990,

  • For graduate programmes, those who were born no earlier than 01.01.1983,

  • For PH.D programmes, Those who were born no earlier than 01.01.1978,

  • Applicants shouldn't have any health problems barrier to education.

  • It is expected from the candidates to have certain academic success for each programme and scholarship level. There are specific minimum scores for the programmes at "assessment and selection" section.

    Turkish citizens and persons who lost Turkish citizenship cannot apply for this scholarship programme.

    Türkiye scholarships are open for Syria citizens who meet these criteria.

    Short-term scholarship programs may have additional application requirements. Please check the requirements during the application period.

    The evaluation of the applications for Turkiye Scholarships are two- phased:

    I. Meeting with the criteria and academic success

    II. Interview

    The scholarship programme is based on academic success and vulnerability.

    Academic criteria of the applicants will be measured according to these documents:

  • Diploma Grade

  • Equivalency Certificate for undergraduate scholarships

  • Cumulative GPA

  • University Entrance Exam Grade (if any)

  • Transcript for those who attend universities

  • Graduation Exam Score (if any)

  • International Test Score (if any)

  • C1 Language Certificate (if any)

  • Other

  • From the documents listed above, academic success criteria is

  • For Undergraduate degree applications:70 %

  • For Master's degree and Ph.D. Degree applications 75 %

  • For Medical School applications 90 %

  • Candidates among those who completed the application fully will be invited to interview in accordance with their academic success.

    Interview information will be delivered by e-mails and online application system. Interviews will be held face to face in the venues to be confirmed later.
